Your dog's best friend is a dog training coach and a dog care taker. Yes, you (your dog's best friend) are responsible for dog training and caring for him from the moment you welcomed him into your life as part of your family until death do you part.

The dog training can be done by you only or with the help of a certified dog trainer.

If you're going to be dog training without a certified dog trainer - you will need some dog training guidance, such as dog training books and/or dog training videos to help out you and your dog.

'My Dog Skip'

Have you ever seen the movie 'My Dog Skip'? If you have, then you will remember that part in the movie where the little boy (can't remember his name) was showing his parents the new tricks his dog Skip had learned.

When he told Skip to 'sit', Skip spun around in circles. When he was told to play dead, Skip begged. Skip didn't get one trick right. Everything he was asked to do, he did something else.

Either the little boy's dog training skills were lacking or Skip had a great sense of humor. 

Although your main purpose in dog training your dog is not to show off with tricks, I'm sure you won't be laughing like I did at Skip's every wrong move if instead of going 'potty' outside your humorous dog uses the carpet in the living room.

So if you are lacking in dog training skills and wish to train your dog without a certified dog trainer, get some dog training books and dog training videos.
 

Certified Dog Trainer

If you're going to get dog training help from a certified dog trainer get references from friends who have pets and make sure that you are comfortable with their dog training methods.
